DigitalNation BMS — Installments
The customer vanished.
First month: paid. Second month: late. Third month: no one answers the phone.

- The guarantor’s number — also gone quiet

Frequently asked questions
What's the minimum down payment?
In Pakistan, typically 15-20% down payment. This protects you — if the customer has paid something, they’ll think twice before disappearing.
What markup rate should I use?
In Pakistan, the usual rate is 30-40% annually — based on business and risk. BMS doesn’t recommend a rate — that’s your decision.
Is a guarantor mandatory?
Technically optional in BMS, but strongly recommended. Without a guarantor, the installment risk multiplies.
Can I have two guarantors in one agreement?
Yes. You can add more than one guarantor — the more, the safer.
Why is a cheque important?
A cheque is legal security. If the customer defaults, the cheque can be used. BMS saves the cheque photo — even if the original is lost, you have proof.
Can I accept partial payments?
Yes. If the customer can’t pay the full installment, record a partial payment — the remaining stays on the schedule.
Can I charge a late fee?
In Pakistan, late fees are usually taken as charity (sadaqah), not profit — for Shariah compliance. BMS doesn’t enforce any policy — it’s your decision.
What if the customer refuses new terms for reschedule?
Only reschedule with the customer’s consent. Otherwise, continue with the original schedule — handle default as per your process.
Can one customer have multiple agreements?
Yes. One customer can have multiple agreements — if all are active. But the general rule: don’t issue new ones if the previous is in default.
Important notes
💡 Photograph everything Customer, guarantor, cheque, CNIC, signed agreement — all photos in the system. If paper is lost, the digital copy protects you.
💡 Verify the guarantor immediately While the customer is in front of you — call the guarantor. It’s a legally stronger step.
💡 Don’t relax the down payment Don’t accept less than 15-20% down payment — it’s your first line of protection.
💡 Record every installment immediately When the customer pays, record it right away. “I’ll do it later” means you’ll forget.
💡 Check the overdue report monthly Check the overdue report on the 1st of every month. Timely reminders — the best recovery method.
💡 Always get the guarantor’s CNIC Name and phone aren’t enough. CNIC strengthens the legal foundation.
